As part of our commemoration students have been studying the Anzac story, including the origin of the Gallipoli Oak. They created an avenue of poppies in the corridors of the school. All students created poppies using different mediums. On April 28th all students assembled at the Cenotaph in Oakleigh. They then marched down the Avenue Of Honour and entred the school via our Memorial Gates (in memory of the students who went to our school and who died in WW1). The tree planting ceremony included a performance from the school choir and the program was based on the suggested order of ceremony. During the day all students tied a ‘gratitude’ (written on a luggage tag) to the Memorial Gates to honour the soldiers who served our country. Each child wrote a different message.
